Michel Fabrizio has signed a 1 year deal to replace fellow Italian Lorenzo Lanzi at the factory Ducati Xerox Team for the 2008 World Superbike championship. Fabrizio has had a ok season having a few really good results and he has raced at 2 rounds of the MotoGP series this year finishing 10th at the Sachsenring. Fabrizio is only 23 and Ducati has stipulated they want a young rider to Partner Bayliss in 08 which was one of the reasons they were looking at Jonny Rea.
Lanzi has had 2 poor seasons with the Factory Ducati team and only really looked like a bright start during his year with the non-factory ducati team in 2005, he also had a couple of impressive rides with the factory team that year and he looked like a potential championship winning in future season.

It's nice to see someone giving Fabrizio a chance on a good bike.
I think he'll go well and wouldn't be suprised to see him on the podium a couple of times next season.
