What do people think of this idea that has been put forward for 2008 by Dorna. Now I can see both for and against this argument as we have seen how successful the one make tyre rule can be by looking at World Superbike, although it did take alot of criticism initially and it did take a couple of seasons for the series to recover and start moving forward. People do generally in hindsight see this as a good step and it has certainly helped to even out the field. However can we really imagine a MotoGP World Championship with only one make of Tyre, I personally think this would be a mistake for MotoGP. What next one make of bike ?? We have always had people moaning in the past about tyres but I think nothing was ever really made of it and that was because the Official Honda and Yamaha teams were more often than not on the best of the bunch, it seems this year all the proposals are more due to the fact that the official Honda and Yamaha Teams have been battered this year by Bridgestone and they see the combination of Stoner, Ducati and Bridgestone as a massive force that they are not going to be able to beat. Suzuki seem to be the only ones coming out of this with any credit keeping themselves to themselves making really good progress and they are now also beating Honda and Yamaha. You have to wonder how much Rossi has to do with this idea as I am sure he feels he would have given Casey a much better run for his money if they were both on the same tyre and apparently Rossi is very very influential in the circles of Dorna. Then there is Honda who do have a reputation for trying to get the rules changed to help suite them, especially when things aren't going there way. I think that the one tyre rule can not be enforced in MotoGP but I guess what this space as there are interesting times ahead.
