Just read a Q&A with Steve Plater on www.crash.net and couldn't help wondering how much would someone like Plater who is considered one of the top Road Racers make in a season and how much would they make out of the TT and the North West, just wondering if doing these kind of races and being successful would set them up for the rest of there lives ?

Well you know what I mean, just compared to other sports ?

Although the prize monies etc are better for pure road racing (excluding Manx which is an amateur event) the answer is no, it does not set you up for life. This is particularly true when most rider are still contributing towards the rides, and do not nescessarily get paid a wage.
