Next British World Champion ????

Wanted to ask who do people really rate on here and does anyone believe that we currently have anyone capable of winning a MotoGP race currently in the British Ranks? The current British Superbike championship is full of young talent like Camier, Sykes and Crutchlow but are they all to old and if they really wanted to be in MotoGP is BSB really the way to go, shouldn't they be in MotoGP starting in 125's or 250's and working there way up? Can someone really be a MotoGP winner if they learn there trade on a Superbike? The only one that comes to mind is Nick Hayden as he came through the US Superbike route but is he the exception and to be honest he didn't win the title, Rossi lost it.

I was reading about Leon Camier in MotorCycle Racer and he says that he was British 125cc Champion a few years back and he was racing again Stoner every week and more often than not he would kick Stoner's Aussy Arse. Stoner then went into quality teams in GP's and Camier was offered a ride in a third rate team to race in the 125cc GP's and from the sounds of it, the oppertunity set him back at least a year, then the following year he signed for Padgetts and did the British Supersport Championship and then he won the championship the following year. One of the biggest issues is that we don't have any British Company's who want to support our British Riders in Racing and its amazing as the TV Coverage of Bike Racing at the moment is massive. If Camier or Crutchlow were Italian or Spanish they would have been showered with sponsorship money and would have both been competing on Top Notch machinery years ago in GP's.

Its good to see that Bradley Smith is being given a fair crack at the whip and lets just hope he gets a top quality ride next year as its pretty obvious to all that he will be capable of winning GP's next year as he is improving all the time. But could his biggest disadvantage be his Nationality ??

Toseland has a big responsibility next year as his success would pave the way for more brits in the Pinnacle Class of Motorsport. I just hope his team don't shaft him like they did to Ellison and D'antin did to Hodgson. I for one will be behind him all the way.
