A somewhat strange decision has seen rising British Superbike Star Jonathan Rea sign for Ten Kate to race in the 2008 World Supersport chanpionship next season. Rea has signed a 3 year contract to race for the Team next year in Supersport and then the following 2 years in World Superbike. Rea had the oppertunity to go straight into the World Superbike with the Factory Ducati Team but decided to stick with Honda. Rea moving to Supersport maybe seen as a somewhat strange decision due to the options he had but seems he has decided to stick with Honda and see if they can help his career progress.

I am also aware Chris Jones was hoping to secure a deal to race in Supersport with Ten Kate and this deal could scupper his chances of a move to Championship winning team.

I think it's a good move for him as from the reports i read ..Ducati showed an interest in him earlier in the season but he didn't have anymore contact from them after that....

Now he'll be having a season on the supersport bike followed by 2 seasons on the Superbike.... let's face it ...he's gone to one of the most successfull teams in the paddock... and with a bit of luck , he'll be up there givin' his all every round.
