Well 2008 is upon us and the racing season is not far away, what have we to look forward to this year.  The WSBK Championship has lost a bit of interest from us Brits in 2008 due to not having anyone competing, so that is a shame but the World Supersport looks a bit like a British Supersport championship this year with a host of our best known riders including Johnny Rea, Chris Jones, Tommy Hill and Chris Walker all potentially on race and championship winning machinery.  Johnny Rea has looked very impressive during pre-season and has proved during testing that he is a natural talent, it should be great to see him in WSBK in 2009. Tommy Hill has already suffered a major setback with a pre-season crash in which he broke his leg, I believe he is sure to miss the first round of the championship, maybe even more which puts the title out of his reach.  In WSBK we have lost Toseland but have a few worthy additions such as Carlos Checa and Raining WSS Champion Kenan Sofuoglu who I am sure will be impressive.  Biaggi has joined Xaus at Sterilgarda and was quickest in pre-season testing at Phillip Island a few days ago and Bayliss broke his collarbone and will start the season injured.  Who will be the main WSBK contenders this year, well due to the injury to Bayliss I think you have to look at Haga.  Haga due to his amazing gung ho riding style has become somewhat of an honorary brit and I am sure the British crowds will come out once again in there thousands to help cheer him on at the UK rounds of the championship.

My tip for this years title is, wait for it, yes I have to go with Haga, I would so love to see him win it, he deserves it after all these years and with his outstanding ability, I think Bayliss is his biggest threat and my outside tip would be Kyonari and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he came into the series and just beat everyone, he is that good.  I also believe Neukirchner will go well on the Suzuki and if the equipment is right then expect to see Lavilla and Tamada up there battling for the lead.

Who do you think will take the title this year ?

1. Haga
2. Bayliss
3. Kyonari
4. Biaggi
5. Corser

Come on top 5's from all members !!
